The Perspective of New Mayor in New York
New York has recently elected its new mayor, who seems to have enhanced its stakes on a crypto-centric approach. The mayor said schools are required to add cryptocurrency education to their curriculum.
This statement was made on 7th Nov 2021 while Adam was giving an interview to the State of the Union by CNN. The mayor indicated that cryptocurrency offers an innovative mode to pay for goods and services across the globe. With such a description, the mayor requested the local schools to introduce students to novel aspects of present-day lives.
Furthermore, Eric also showed extremely limited awareness regarding crypto within the young crowd. At the age of 61, Adam decided to walk around and check the insights on crypto awareness among the young public. Although, he got very uninformed responses.
Plans Led by NY’s New Mayor
He further shared plans concerning motivating the local businesses in New York to begin accepting payments in cryptocurrency. He further added that NY should continue its position as “the core of innovation” despite the type of innovation. The crypto community has all kinds of responses to the comments made by the new city mayor.
A user on Twitter offered a positive response by suggesting the importance of adding cryptocurrency in school curricula concerning investing decisions. Although, there were the ones with a criticising approach as well. They called it “speculative garbage” and hence, highlighted the importance of teaching core subjects successfully.
Some people even highlighted the personal interest of the mayor in promoting the use of cryptocurrency. They say the mayor’s work is not concerned with encouraging cryptocurrencies.
The plans of the mayor reflect his intention to launch a city crypto-token, likely found in Miami as the Miamicoin. If the mayor’s opinion and intentions are turned into action, then New York will become the first city to offer crypto integrated study programs.
