Oki Matsumoto, CEO of Japanese financial giant Monex, believes that the emergence of a national digital currency will bring revival to cryptocurrency markets.
Matsumoto stressed that any step towards the creation of a state cryptocurrency is positive for the digitalization of the Japanese economy and makes it more efficient. In addition, such assets are also useful for non-government cryptocurrencies:
“CBDCs will make communication between any digital asset much easier. This should revitalize the cryptocurrency market. ”
Matsumoto said that small cryptocurrency exchanges and brokers usually do not own bank accounts, so traders face difficulties when exchanging digital currencies for fiat money. The launch of a national digital currency will help to exchange cryptocurrencies smoothly and legally for a digital yen within a special platform.
Recall that back in August 2019, Matsumoto noticed a change in the attitude of the Japanese authorities towards cryptocurrencies. Then he stressed that the Land of the Rising Sun has become more friendly to digital assets than the United States.
