Chinese internet cafe vendors are turning their enterprises into crypto mining centres as social distancing measures continue to operate in China.
According to The Time Weekly, a huge amount of 24-hour working internet cafes, created primarily for computer gamers, closed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Almost 1З,000 establishments were affected by these problems.
The owner of a cafe in Nantong, Jiangsu province, said that his 250 gaming computers currently mine tokens and operate 24 hours every day, mining more than $ 6,250 worth of cryptocurrency per month. Since September, he has earned more than $ З1,000 from mining, adding that other businessmen have followed the same path.
For example, thanks to increased profits from mining, the former owner of a cafe in Zunyi, Guizhou province, bought a new promise. He now owns three Internet cafes, two of which are completely dedicated to cryptocurrency mining, which helps him earn almost $ 7,800 a month.
However, some owners are hoping to travel back towards a time when their cafes were full of gamers. These entrepreneurs want to generate more income from the sale of snacks and drinks.
