Bitmain has announced the release of new modular mining equipment, oriented towards large-scale mining operations of cryptocurrencies.
According to the announcement of the company, the AntRack module includes: a switch, four servers, a server rack, a main control panel, and of course, a water-cooling system. As being the main components of the device are designated the hash calculation board, power supply, control panel, and fans, all hot-swappable.
Bitmain emphasized that this innovative modular approach minimizes equipment downtime. It also simplifies and reduces the cost of the subsequent update. In its installation, it will be enough to change the hash card with a few chips when moving from the current 7nm to the patiently expected 5nm technology.
Despite the presentation of the new Bitmain equipment, the conflict between the company’s co-founders continues. Mikri Zhang and Jihan Wu were expected to “shake hands” at the conference in Sanya (located in Hainan province), where the company presented new products and talked about its further business development. However, the Bitmain co-founders did not attend the event
At the summit, company representatives announced that 5nm hardware is still under development and will not be released anytime soon.
