
According to the analytical webpage Coin ATM Radar, in 2020 the number of installed cryptocurrency ATMs has grown by more than 80%. This is almost three times more than there were at the beginning of 2019.
The world entered in 2020 with 6372 crypto cash machines. As of November 8, 11,665 crypto-supporting ATMs are operable around the world, and their number will only continue to grow.
According to the assessment of Coin ATM Radar, every hour, on average, one more of these devices is put into operation. In fact, 23 are added every single day.
The leader in this field is the United States, where, in comparison with Europe, the growth is virtually exponential. In 2020 alone, the number of crypto cash machines in America has grown from 4213 to 9242 devices. They are being installed in different places – from small shopping centers to the giant Tesla factory.
The USA accounts for 79.2% of the Bitcoin cash machines in the world, followed by neighboring Canada with 880, which is about 7.5% of the total number. Great Britain is the country with the largest number of machines in Europe (268), while in the Asian market Hong Kong is in the lead with 62 units.
The incontestable leader in Latin America is the country of Columbia, having 40 units. The leader in African, South Africa, has only 6 of these devices.
The leading start-up in this industry is Genesis Coin. The company from San Francisco has installed 4189 Bitcoin ATMs all over the globe. On second and third places are the companies General Bytes with 3443 ATMs and with 1137 BitAccess.
