American Congressman: Bitcoin is Here to Stay

American Congressman Tom Emmer believes that Bitcoin will not go anywhere and will only gain popularity, especially in times of crisis.

During the Pomp Podcast run by Morgan Creek Digital co-founder Anthony Pompliano, Emmer stressed that the coronavirus pandemic has pushed people to seek new tools to store their savings. Therefore, investors started paying more attention to cryptocurrencies.

“When we get out of the crisis, Bitcoin will not go anywhere. It will only get stronger. You will see. It has value, and when something is appreciated, people take risks and the asset continues to grow”, said Emmer.

The congressman also spoke out against centralized monetary systems and stressed that Bitcoin is the future, as it is decentralized. Emmer also supports the government’s involvement in cryptocurrency regulation and called on the US Federal Reserve to take a clearer position on the digital dollar.

Emmer also touched upon a recent hack of verified Twitter accounts, which resulted in scammers earning about $ 120,000 in BTC. He stressed that the problem lies not with Bitcoin, but with the social network Twitter itself.

We would like to remind you that Tom Emmer is one of the congressmen who signed an appeal to the US Internal Revenue Service with a request not to tax rewards for staking cryptocurrencies.
