The Minecraft creator, Mojang Studios, did not favor incorporating NFTs. However, a mainly Metverse firm has been able to incorporate NFTs inside different games involving the Minecraft server.
Oscar Franklin Tan, the chief financial officer of a blockchain gaming firm called Enjin, and the CEO of MyMetverse, Simon Kertongeoro, stated that they did some intense research and found out how to implement the NFTs in the games without breaking any obligations or terms.
Kertonegoro says that the rules of Minecraft about the NFTs are concerned with safeguarding the players from any unpleasant happenings or scenarios. He also added how several servers have broken and neglected this guideline. But he further said they could introduce it inside their servers, which would not break any rules. They have made this possible by providing the best NFTs free to earn while not adding any pay-to-win NFT.
Tan also added further to the conversation, saying that the Enjin is in support of the movement taken by the MyMetaverse. They have taken the initiative to talk with Mojang Studios about their approach to NFTs. He also mentioned how the NFT-integrated server of Minecraft was in existence even before the company decided to ban NFTs.
He also mentioned how a country like China, which was in the complete prohibition of cryptocurrencies, is showing interest in NFTs. So he argued with the point that if the Chinese government can accept it, then why not Minecraft?
The NFTs of MyMetaverse also come with an interoperability aspect. This enables them to incorporate games such as GTAV, MMO, etc. Moreover, he said that adding NFTs to the games is crucial for stimulating Metaverse growth. The foundation of NFTs is Efinity, a Polkadot parachain created by Enjin. The CEO also said their NFTs would positively affect Polkadot’s broader ecosystem.
