Ripple Could Relocate to Japan or Singapore, CEO Brad Garlinghouse Says

Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen previously has stated that the company could leave the US due to an unclear regulatory condition. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse confirmed the company standing.

In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Garlinghouse said that the company is considering among several jurisdictions. He named the most likely countries for Ripple to move – Singapore, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.

“A common distinguishing feature of these states is that their authorities have clear plans on the ways to regulate digital assets and cryptocurrencies,” highlighted the CEO of Ripple.

According to Garlinghouse, the United States, unlike the countries in question, is in no way able to decide on the regulation of digital assets. Currently, it is not even clear how to treat cryptocurrencies – like commodities, currencies, private property, or securities. Japan has created “quality conditions for the development of a healthy market.”

“Regulation should not be a guessing game. Ripple is proud of its American heritage, and we would like to stay in the US as long as possible. But we really need transparent regulation in order to receive investments and grow as a company,” said CEO of Ripple.

We remind that Chris Larsen shared about the possibility of Ripple headquarters relocation in early October.
