Тhe Just Eat France food delivery service in France has started accepting Bitcoin payments for orders in more than 15,000 different restaurants in the country. The well-known Bitpau service became the payment provider.
During the pandemic of coronavirus, online orders became ever more popular, since in observance of the rules of social distancing many restaurants closed for visitors. In addition, the use of cash has decreased, so it is not surprising that the food industry is being converted to cryptocurrencies.
Just Eat is a big player in the sphere of food delivery in France, and this initiative will help to promote the use of cryptocurrencies to a wide audience.
“We do not charge any commission for payments in Bitcoins. To complete a Bitcoin payment, you must create a digital wallet by easily downloading the designated software or app,” stated the company.
Payments by Bitcoin will be derived using the current cryptocurrency price charged by Bitpau. However, if for whatever reason the Bitcoin payment is canceled, the client will be refunded the amount in euro, which will be converted to the client’s designated bank account.
“In the moment you make the initial payment, Bitcoins are converted into euro. In this way, the exchange rate used for the moment of your payment will be the rate used for the exchange,”- reads the website of the service.
