All 350 members of the lower chamber of the Spanish Parliament have become the holders of Bitcoins, a few days before a similar initiative was done in the United States.
According to the ABC reports, each member of the lower chamber of the Spanish Parliament was sent an electronic letter with details on how to get access to the virtual wallet, which contains Bitcoin worth one euro. The counterpart organizers of the initiative in the US obviously had more money since their distributed amount was $50.
The Observatorio Blockchain educational platform, which specializes in blockchain technology, sent this wallet to members of all 10 parties, tied to QR-code and to BTC.
The purpose of this step is to enable the MPs to experiment with the digital currency and to feel the roles, which crypto assets play in the development of our economy and society.
“Many politicians have already had some experience of using crypto assets, but we would like the ones who still don’t know well enough this virtual form of money, to have the chance to test it on their own,” shared the organizers.
