Visa Is Working on a System for Crypto Payments

In an interview published by Forbes, it is stated that at the current time Visa explores the introduction of payments in digital currency.

As the head of the cryptocurrency company Cuy Sheffield noted, this implementation requires the solution of many technical problems:

“There are many technical problems associated with the safe activation of this function. So, we continue to do studies in this direction and, hopefully, we will have something to talk about in the next year. “

Talking about the digital currencies of central banks (CBDC), Sheffield stated that his company actively cooperates with central banks in this direction. He added that this topic starts to generate more and more interest:

“We believe that if the central bank is going to release CBDC, it will need to take into account the same factors, which are currently explored by the companies.”

One of the obstacles for the implementation of CBDC is their inability to function without electricity and an Internet connection, which limits their accessibility.

Vice President and Global Head of Fintech Direction, Visa Terry Angelos, says that the payment network giant wants to attract more companies that opted for the use of cryptocurrency as their main partners:

“We see significant interest from the side of the cryptocurrency companies that want to work with Visa and connect their clients to our network”.
