
The documents submitted to the court exposed details about several customers. They also showed how the executives had taken millions from the company platform. This happened just weeks before the suspension. After some time, the platform was suspended for public use. All the documents available to the public have exposed several sensitive pieces of information. It includes the Bankruptcy of Celsius along with data of thousands of customers. The details concern the financial disclosure, which was submitted on 5th October.
There were 14500 pages in the document. The documents have several personal details of the customers also. However, the addresses of the customers have been hidden. But other details, such as their names, transaction amounts, types, etc., are still visible. It contains information concerning their activities on the platform. Moreover, it also has the United States dollar amounts for the transactions. The documents also reveal the type of cryptocurrency used.
This revelation of public platform data has led to unease in the crypto community. On 6th October, Henry de Valence, the founder of Web3 startup Penumbra Labs, said to his 9000 Twitter followers that the information of Celsius users can be accessed by anyone now. Furthermore, the transactions done by the customers can be checked by the on-chain activity if one tries to coincide the transaction dates with the amount present on the blockchain data.
The same documents have also shown how the Celsius executive withdrew a massive amount of cryptocurrency, valued at around $17 million, just in a few weeks. This happened before the action of freezing the platform. Similarly, the former CEO of the platform called, Alex Mashinsky, also withdrew around $10 million. This withdrawal happened during the month of May. On the same note of actions, the platform’s chief strategy officer, known as Daniel Leon, took out around $7 million. And the existing chief technology officer Nuke Goldstein took out around $555,000. It is speculated that all these withdrawals were pre-planned because of the future condition predictions.
