In a recent interview with the CEO of Real Vision Raoul Pal, the CEO of Kraken Jesse Powell made a few quite interesting statements.
According to him, the alleged creator of Bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto could have probably envisioned a big financial crisis, even bigger than the 2008 recession. For the creator of Bitcoin, the cryptocurrency was meant as a method to get away from this impending failure of the system and get something real, finite, and predictable.
Although the CEO of Kraken recognizes the fact that in the short-term Bitcoin experienced a decent amount of volatility, according to him in the long-term the cryptocurrency has proven itself as an excellent method to preserve asset value.
The CEO of Real Vision, on his turn, highlighted the outstanding performance of Bitcoin as an investment asset. He believes that Bitcoin as always, remains the most outstanding asset of all time.
Furthermore, Powell noted that the central bank digital currency (CBDC) will have the same problems that fiat currencies experience. These include the unlimited emission, forgery and so on. But, despite this, CBDCs will open for all people more doors, that will allow them to enter the world of cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin.
Talking about the development of cryptocurrencies in the next 5 years, the CEO of Kraken noted that Bitcoin will be as popular as before. However, the complications coming from the unfamiliarity and acceptance (including as a payment method) will be gradually overcome. Bitcoin will likely become a usual application, about which the users will stop thinking in a negative light.
