The web browser Opera is slowly but steadily gaining popularity among decentralized internet enthusiasts. Over 170,000 users are now using its built-in wallet feature for Ethereum, Tron, and Bitcoin monthly.

Announcing the numbers for the feature for the first time, the world-known Norwegian company shed some light on the Web 3 decentralized application (commonly referred to as “dapp”) and distributed computing communities.

Although there is no concrete data provided for the numbers of each mention blockchain network, the head of the crypto department at Opera, Charles Hamel, shared that Ethereum is the most popular network by far.

Although the engagement figures for the app represent a very small number of the total monthly users of the browser (over 360 million people), they stand their ground against similar wallet services such as MetaMask. It estimated around 192,000 active accounts in May 2019.

Opera is working on attracting more people to its web-wallet. Last Friday the company announced that Dapp.com will now power the app store on Web 3.

Users in the US will from now forward also be able to take advantage of the popular feature that Opera rolled out for the US and EU markets. Ramp Instant, a fiat-to-crypto bridge company will be providing the service in the UK, Opera announced.
