As it became clear from a statement of the holding company for heating power plants (Thermal Power Plant Holding Company or TTPH), Iran intends to provide the energy of three electric power stations exclusively for the extraction of Bitcoins.

According to the local news agency Tehran Times, the power stations in mind recently received stimulus and subsidies from the government for the supply of heat, but until July, they were forbidden to use the energy they generate for the extraction of cryptocurrencies.

In July, Iran officially legalized the industry of cryptocurrency mining for organizations that received a license from the Ministry of Industry, which can include the oil and gas industry and private miners.

Today, the mining facilities can no longer use heat subsidies, but they operate in accordance with certain tariffs, established for the cryptocurrency farms.

In addition, as the director of TTPH Mohsen Tarztalab said, the company will start selling electricity to Bitcoin miners from three power stations Ramin, Neka, and Shahid Montazeri, where an all necessary installations have already been placed.

According to him, in the near future, the auction documents will be posted on the website SetadIran.ir. The new direction of activity will open stable sources of revenue for the electric power industry of Iran.

These three Iranian power plants will use their capacity only to extract BTC. In this way, the national network will be spared from overload.
