Dogecoin Price Rises 50% as Elon Musk Tweets About it Again

Dogecoin rose more than 50% on Thursday to trade about $0.059 per unit.

This development was apparently greeted by Elon Musk, who made a number of tweets regarding the cryptocurrency, in spite of a pledge two days ago to break off Twitter for “some time.”

In one of these posts, Musk published a “Lion King”-stirred Meme containing a photoshopped picture of himself lifting the iconic DOGE Shiba Inu emblem to the skies.

He persisted with a series of tweets calling the cryptocurrency as the “people’s crypto” announcing, “No highs, no slumps, only Doge.”

This kind of chaotic price volatility is typical for the cryptocurrency. On January 29 DOGE rocketed more than 800% to around $0.082 per unit, apparently sparked by interest from the Reddit trading forums like WallStreetBets along with a TikTok clip about the “dogecoin army” by niche celebrity Carole Baskin from the notorious Netflix’s series “Tiger King.”

Also, back in January, adult actress Angela White triggered DOGE to double in value after she stated she is an owner of the cryptocurrency.
