Bitcoin Will Exceed the Capitalisation of Gold in the Next 10 Years, Expert Says

Anthony Pompliano, a cryptocurrency expert and co-founder of Morgan Creek Digital, stated that Bitcoin’s market capitalization will beat the one of gold by 2030.

Pompliano made this prediction on a Twitter post. Meanwhile, Peter Schiff, a proponent of gold investments, known for his provocative social media engagement, responded candidly:

“You will be lucky if the market capitalization of Bitcoin is more than the value of a baseball cap in 2029.”

However, Pompliano did not engage in wrangling and stressed out that his prediction is moderate and considers many factors and circumstances that could potentially slow the growth of the first-ever cryptocurrency. If we take into account that the present capitalization of Bitcoin is $227 billion, and the one of gold is $9 trillion, then the capitalization of the first cryptocurrency has to grow as much as 40 times over the next decade.

“At the end of 2029, the capitalization of Bitcoin will be higher than the capitalization of gold,” – highlighted the co-founder of Morgan Creek.

Twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss just recently expressed their conviction that Bitcoin is a much more reliable asset than gold is. They stated that in the future, very likely, precious metals such as gold will be mined in the space. Taking into account the huge reserves of gold that can be found on asteroids, this will inevitably result in a sharp decline in its price.
