After giving his concern on the effects of VR headsets on the eyesight of humans, Elon Musk claimed that there is no prospect of VR headsets. However, the CEO and founder of Tesla and SpaceX didn’t support metaverse and ecosystems of Web 3.0. Instead, he showed his disagreement with these terms, denoting them as general marketing gigs. While sharing his views with “The Babylon Bee” during an interview, Elon Musk said he doesn’t see people strapping a VR to their eyes. He also added that he doesn’t really believe in a future with VR headsets where people will wear VRs all day on their eyes.
Adding more about VR and metaverse, Elon Musk mentioned that he doesn’t agree with the speculations where people will leave the physical world and will choose the virtual world to spend their lives. He shared his own experience where he said that he started feeling motion sickness while using a VR to play virtual games. Elon Musk emphasized the ability of Neuralink to set human lives into the virtual world.
Neuralink and Virtual reality
Elon Musk has founded Neuralink, a neurotechnology enterprise formed with the motive of developing brain implants. Such brain implants will be used for curing the physical disabilities of humans by using computers. He gave his opinion that he might understand the potential of metaverse and Web 3.0 later, but currently, he does not understand its practical use.
Musk mentioned how we were used to being warned about maintaining a certain distance from the TV. So how come we will face the consequences of carrying a screen just in front of our eyes all day. He said that the possibility of people wanting to use VR headsets all the time is negligible.
Further, Musk talked about Dogecoin (DOGE) and showed his support for the crypto-currency. He mentioned that crypto is not going to faze away any soon. He emphasized that cryptocurrency will help reduce government control over currency flow. However, he speculated that the government can’t eradicate crypto but can hamper or reduce the rate of its progression.
