A new study has discovered that most American investors consider cryptocurrency is a safe investment. Additionally, 25% now own crypto while another 27% say they intend to invest in the current year.
That is according to a recent survey among 30,000 individuals above the age of 18 performed by Piplsay, a leading global consumer study platform. The findings seem to coincide with other recent studies.
Back in October 2020, Grayscale determined that 55% of U.S. investors are attracted to purchasing crypto. Meanwhile, Bitwise found out that 24% of financial consultants already own Bitcoin or some alternative crypto in a survey circulated in January.
Bitcoin’s dramatic rise has set it amongst the best-performing assets of the past year and the last decade. This robust performance has drawn institutional actors from MicroStrategy to BlackRock, and MassMutual to Tesla.
The survey of Piplsay uncovered that 41% of respondents believe that the stock market and crypto are similarly risky investments. Out of those that think cryptocurrency is not a reliable investment, 27% were most worried concerned with hacking or fraud, whilst 22% regarding the lack of regulatory standards and 20% of rate volatility.
A separate question revealed that 30% of responders claim they do not understand crypto technology, while 13% stated they have never heard anything of cryptocurrencies.
We remind that a number of recent studies have also indicated that the number of women and young people Bitcoin traders is growing.
