A Mexican medical firm has used blockchain technology for the verification of Covid-19 test results quickly and authentically.
This has been one of the most recent and innovative uses of blockchain.
As per a news report by a local media source iProUP news dated 17th October, The medical firm MDS Mexico has introduced an online platform that allows the patients to see their results of tests in real-time. Also, the prepared reports are delivered physically, having a QR code to be scanned for result verification. In fact, it allows access to the vaccination history on the blockchain of the firm.
According to MDS, the adoption of Blockchain is to safeguard the clinical test results, personal data of the patient, and prevention of false Covid test results.
The Blockchain test result comes along with a cryptographic authentic signature by the doctor who verifies the test results.
MDS is one of the firms in Mexico that has welcomed Blockchain for Covid test digitalization. There are numerous firms registered with Mexico’s National Chamber of Commerce (CANACO) that announced the digitization of vaccination passports along with a private blockchain technology firm called Xertfiy.
In August this year, the Australian representatives in the blockchain industry promoted the Blockchain-based vaccination system. This was done in an effort to proliferate the COVID-19 vaccine passports in online mode.
