Venmo Payment Service Adds Cryptocurrency Support for 70M Customers

Mobile payments service Venmo, which is owned by PayPal, has declared the adding of the ability to buy, sell and store cryptocurrencies on its platform. Its over 70 million clients gained access to four virtual currencies – Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Ethereum. The lowest possible transaction amount is $1. The transfers can be conducted using funds on the balance in the app or through a bank card.

Since the end of March, PayPal customers can now use their cryptocurrency to pay. Customers who hold Bitcoins, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and Litecoin on their wallets can convert them into fiat currencies at the time of purchase. In the next months, the service will be accessible to all 29 million merchants that operate with PayPal.

PayPal enabled access to digital assets to American customers back in November 2020. Since then, the clients can purchase, keep, and market crypto directly through the service.
