In the context of the blockchain’s development in China, the authorities of the Chinese capital Beijing will launch a special fund for the development of the technology.
The local authorities of Beijing introduced a “Plan for the development of blockchain initiatives in Beijing (2020-2022)”. The initiative’s goal is to fully integrate services and applications based on blockchain in the public life of Beijing. Also, the plan suggests the launching of a fund, whose purpose will be investment in blockchain projects and their support in time. This will make Beijing a leader in blockchain development in China and around the world.
Furthermore, Beijing’s authorities will support research and development regarding the distributed registry technology and the use of blockchain technologies in municipal institutions and ministries. Hopes are, with the help of blockchain technologies, to verify and chare data, but perhaps more importantly to use it for creating infrastructure and development of governmental services.
“By 2022 Beijing will become a center of innovation in the blockchain sphere, technology application, development of industry, and search of talents in the field of new technologies. Our city will become a leader in the creation of blockchain-based economy”, says a statement from the authorities of the Chinese capital.
In early March the tax service of Beijing announced it will be introducing blockchain technology in the collection of taxes by the taxpayers.
