Tickets for the 2022 Asian Games Will Be Issued by Blockchain

For sports fans heading to the 2022 Asian Games in Hanzhou, knowledge of the blockchain technology will be required. The organizers of the two-week competition intend to issue all tickets using a blockchain network.

According to China News, the organizers have closed the deal with the online platform for ticket selling Demai. In 2017 the company was acquired by the giant of electronic commerce and a bloc tech supporter Alibaba, making it a subsidiary company. Tickets for multisport games will go on sale in 2021, and, according to Alibaba Vice President and General Director of Damai Cao Jie, all of them will be released on the blockchain.

In the past, the organizers of large events, including international football matches of the highest level, issued tickets to blockchain only for narrow audiences.

Damai declared that “all tickets will be protected with the help of blockchain technology”, which will also simplify and improve the efficiency of checks and fix the problem of issuing tickets. In addition, this solution will help eliminate the purchase of tickets by ill-minded people who sell them on the black market at inflated prices.

Tickets for the Paralympic Asian Games 2022, which are available in a few weeks after the Asian Games, will also be sold with the use of the new solution based on blockchain.
